Plane crashes in Moscow, 4 People Killed


A Russian plane broke into pieces after a failed landing. The fateful plane skidded off the runway and hit the highway in Moscow. Four crew members were killed in the incident.

Reported by Reuters on Sunday (30/12/2012), the aircraft owned by the Russian airline Red Wings were shattered after failing to land and hit a highway outside the airport Vnukovo, Saturday (29/12). Tu-204 plane was not carrying passengers and returning from the Czech Republic.


"The plane was shattered into three pieces," said Yelena Krylova, a spokesman for the main airports, in comments broadcast on state television.

A witness said he saw the plane seconds fell and shattered. "We saw how the plane skidded off the runway. Nose plane, where there is a business class business class, stopped and a man fell. We helped her into a mini bus to take him to the hospital," said a witness named Alexei.

The pilot, co-pilot, flight engineer and a flight attendant were killed in the incident. Meanwhile, four flight attendants were injured. Fortunately the plane did not hit another vehicle on the highway.

The cause of the accident is still unknown. From the initial inquiry, there is no indication the accident was caused by the negligence of the pilot.
